ARLETA, Calif. -- Lucinda Berdean Henderson Ferguson Vaughn, 105, formerly of Cairo, Ill., died Feb. 13, 2017, in Arleta.

Born Jan. 29, 1912, in Clarksdale, Miss., to William H. and Lula E. Leatherwood Henderson, she attended Shady Grove AME Church and Martin Temple CME Church. Later, she joined First Central M.B. Church where her husband was the pastor. Upon moving to Detroit, she was a member of St. Matthew M.B. Church.

Survivors include: two sons and one daughter-in-law, Nathaniel B. Ferguson Jr. of Arleta and Willie Joe and Lela Vaughn of Detroit; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Visitation is from 10 a.m. until service time 11 a.m. Friday at Mercy Seat Missionary Baptist Church in Charleston with Arthur Cassell, pastor, officiating.

Burial will follow in Green Lawn Memorial Gardens in Villa Ridge, Ill., with the Williams Funeral Home of Charleston, Mo., in charge of arrangements.
