Robert Blackman

ROCKFORD, Ill. -- Robert Charles Blackman, 69, died April 15, 2017.

Born March 10, 1948, in Marston, Mo., son of the late Robert Blackman and Alice Misouria, he had been a member of Marston Missionary Baptist Church. He worked several years on the construction of the toll bridges in Chicago and 15 years as a caregiver.

Survivors include: three sisters, Clora Williams of Belleville, Mich., Mary Misouria of Romulus, Mich., and Doris Wyatt of Dearborn, Mich.; one aunt Ruth Sanchez and one uncle Sammie Misouria; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a set of twin siblings.

Visitation will be from 8 a.m. until service time at 10 a.m. Saturday at Mount Carmel Missionary Baptist Church in Rockford. The Rev. Jeff Lee will officiate.

Carl E. Ponds Funeral Home in Rockford is in charge of arrangements.
