SIKESTON - William Franklin Speed, 67, died June 23, 2017.

Born Jan. 25. 1950, in Hughes, Ark., to the late Woodrow Wilson Speed Sr. and Estella Joyce Speed Jackson, he was a New Madrid County Central graduate and a member of Mount Pisgah Missionary Baptist Church in Olive Branch, Miss. He was self-employed.

In addition to her parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Melvin Speed, and one sister, Yvonne Speed.

Survivors include: eight brothers, Woodrow Speed Jr. of Sikeston, Milton Speed of Olive Branch, Miss., Charles Andrews of McAllen, Texas, Curtis Speed, Jerry Speed and Lawrence Speed of Hughes, Ark., Fredrick Speed of West Memphis, Ark., and Bobby Speed of Hughes, Ark.; and nine sisters, Mary Ann Merkson of Memphis, Tenn., Amanda A. Speed of Olive Branch, Miss., La Carre Ivy of San Francisco, Barbara Hurd and Louise Love of Chicago, Lavon Turner of McCrory, Ark., Capra Speed of Dallas and Aimee Speed and Lucille Speed of Hughes, Ark.

A memorial service will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Smith Chapel United Methodist Church.

Interment will follow in Payne Cemetery in Olive Branch, Miss.
