SIKESTON -- Florence Alice Walker, 90, died Aug. 14, 2017, at Sikeston Convalescent Center in Sikeston.
Born Dec. 11, 1926, in Briggsdale, Ohio, to the late Joseph and Martha (George) Daab, she graduated from Southeast Missouri State University in 1977 with a degree in speech pathology. She was a speech pathologist for Delta Area Head Start before retiring. She was a member of the First Christian Church where she served as church organist and music director for many years and she was a member of the Sikeston Lion's Club.
On June 16, 1946, in McArthur, Ohio, she married Paul Walker; he preceded her in death Sept. 4, 2013.
Survivors include: one son, Doug Walker of Kimberling City; one daughter and son-in-law, Donna and Paul Johnson of Sikeston; five grandchildren, Shawdi and Mark Williams, Addie and Matt Winchester, Emily and Ronnie Wallace all of Sikeston, Isaac and Jenny Johnson of Louisville, Ky., and Guy Walker of Manitou Springs, Colo.; and 13 great-grandchildren, Morgan Johnson, Caleb Williams, Joshua Williams, Noah Williams, Titus Williams, Ashton Wallace, Micah Wallace, Timothy Wallace, Joseph Wallace, Elaina Winchester and Jillian Winchester all of Sikeston and Eliana Johnson and Coraline Johnson of Louisville.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by one daughter, Sue Ann Walker; one brother; and one sister.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until time of memorial services at 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 19 at First Christian Church in Sikeston. The Rev. David Nash, pastor, will officiate.
Burial will follow at a later date.
