PORTAGEVILLE, Mo. -- James Y. Hawks, 66, died Aug. 15, 2017, at his home in Portageville.
Born March 2, 1951, in Marston, son of Hazel Slider Hawks and the late Henry Hawks, in 1971, he was drafted into the U.S. Army serving during Vietnam War.
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by one sister, Joyce Thomas.
Survivors include: his companion, Dinah Jones of Portageville; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Matt and Micah Hawks of Portageville and James William Hawks of Dexter; two stepsons, Denton Jones and Derek Jones of Dyersburg, Tenn.; one sister, Diane Lechenette of Portageville; and five grandchildren.
Visitation is from 11 a.m. until service time at 2 p.m. Thursday at DeLisle Funeral Home in Portageville with the Rev. Steve Bradford officiating.
Burial with full military rites will follow in the Portageville Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be: Curtis Preyer, Donald Joe Johnson, Denton Jones, John David Hawkins, Jimmy Toton and Michael T. Johnston
Honorary pallbearers will be: Derek Jones, Stan Partin, AL Mercer and Mike Christian.
