PORTAGEVILLE, Mo. -- Lidia Odessa James, 73, died Oct. 21, 2017, at her home in Portageville.
Born Jan. 4, 1944, in Portageville, daughter of the late Mae Fannie Ward Durden and Love Durden, she was a member of the Missionary Baptist Church and retired from Plastine Supply Co. where she worked for over 30 years.
On Feb. 10, 1963, in Portageville, she married Jessie Carl James who survives of the home.
Other survivors include: two sons, Jessie C. James Jr. of Mesa, Ariz., and Jestin Earl James of Chandler, Ariz.; two daughters, Ronda Rene (Lesley) Dixon of Dallas, Ga., and Bernice L. (Luther) Woodard of Newport News, Va.; one brother, Roosevelt Durden; and two sisters, Lovie Lee Sander of Milwaukee, Wis., and Marilyn Durden of Chicago, Ill.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by eight siblings, Johnnie Lee, Booker T. , Dorothy Lee, Willie B., Pearlie Mae, Ocie Lee, Lavell and Patsy.
Visitation will be Friday from 6-8 p.m. at DeLisle Funeral Home and from noon until service time at 1 p.m. Saturday at New Salem Missionary Baptist Church. The Rev. Floyd Farr will officiate.
Burial will follow in the Portageville Cemetery.
