BLOOMFIELD, Mo. -- Bill "Cowboy" McRoy, 86, died Feb. 5, 2018, at the Bloomfield Nursing Center.

Born June 5, 1931, in Bell City, son of the late Alexander and Oma Bowman McRoy, he had lived in the Bloomfield area most of his life. He had worked for Pyramid Roofing as a foreman before his retirement and was a member of the Dexter Eagles Aerie for many years.

On March 12, 1959, in Poplar Bluff, he married Reva Jane Euin, who survives of the home.

Other survivors include: six sons and spouses, Ron and Joella McRoy of Dexter, Billy and Carl McRoy both of Fairfield, Iowa, Bill and Lois Saylors of Dyersburg, Tenn., Frank and Kathy McRoy and Lloyd and Laura McRoy of Bloomfield; six daughters and spouses, Lula Belle Stroud of Arizona, Ruth Reynolds of Dexter, Judy and Kenny Ewing and JoAnn and James Whittley of Bloomfield, Faye and Doug Stitt of Montrose, Mich., Michelle McRoy of Florida; one brother, Robert "Bob" McRoy of Bowing Green, Ky.; and one sister, Mary Gilbee of Overland; and 33 grandchildren and 30 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by five brothers, Charlie, Vester, Elmer, John and Herman McRoy; and four sisters, Kathryn Lay, Dollie Cravens, Ida Robinson and Grace Collins.

Visitation will from 10 a.m. until service time at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Chiles-Cooper Funeral Home in Bloomfield with Tim Griffin of Dexter officiating.

Burial will follow in the Walker Cemetery near Bloomfield.
