Gloria Houston's Health Occupation students from Sikeston Career and Technology Center recently attended a HOSA Leadership Conference in Jefferson City. Students attended the conference to learn how to be a leader in healthcare. Some of the breakout sessions they attended included: Leadership Development, Emotional Intelligence, Importance of Community Service, Officer Duties and Professional Development. "This was a great opportunity to show these students the impact they can make in their community and we plan to implement several projects right here in the Bootheel," Houston said. The students also learned the meaning of WORDS (What, Objective, Recruit, Drive and Summarize). Students made plans at the conference to do these things and more to motivate others to serve.
