Laverna Rennier

SIKESTON - Laverna Rennier, 89, died Feb. 12, 2017, at the Lutheran Home in Cape Girardeau.

Born Sept. 29, 1927, in Hamel, Il., to the late William and Alice (Snyder) Wilkening, she was a member of Saint Francis Xavier Catholic Church.

On Nov. 28, 1953, she married Joseph F. Rennier; he preceded her in death March 23, 2009.

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, one brother, Chester Wilkening, and one sister, Shirley Wolters.

Survivors include: three sons and two daughters-in-law, Michael J. Rennier of Sikeston, Robert and Kelly Rennier of Hoschton, Georgia and Mark and Shelia Rennier of Matthews; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Bill and Kathryn Wilkening of Littleton, Colo., and James and Martha Wilkening of Sikeston; four grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and one stepgrandchild.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, Feb. 15, from 5 to 8 p.m. with rosary service at 7 p.m. at Ponder Funeral Home. Funeral Mass will be held Thursday, Feb. 16, at 10 a.m. at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church. Father Patrick Nwokoye will officiate.

Burial will follow in the Garden of Memories Cemetery in Sikeston.
