Edwin Groves Sr.
MINER, Mo. -- Edwin Ray Groves Sr., age 79, passed away on Jan. 1, 2018, at Miner Nursing Center in Miner.
Born July 6, 1938, in Bertrand, he was the son of the late Fred Hillman and Ova Delk Groves.
On May 18, 1957, in Charleston, he married Ruth Ann Crews, who survives of the home.
Survivors include: one son and daughter-in-law, Edwin Ray and Cyndee Groves Jr. of Kansas City; two daughters, Pamela Dianne Classe and Terry Henley of Mansfield, Ark., and Sharon Kay Granger and Mark Pratt of Sikeston; five grandchildren, Ian Classe of Lawrence, Kan., Corina Wright of Kansas City, Miranda Groves of Kansas City, Danice Thomas of Sikeston and Dana Granger of Sikeston; three great-grandchildren, Jaedyn Johnson and Eliana Johnson of Sikeston and Rylee Wright of Kansas City.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, John Groves and Hillman Groves; and one sister, Ellen Smith.
Visitation will be Wednesday, Jan. 3, 2018, from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel in Sikeston. The funeral service will be Thursday, Jan. 4, 2018, at 11 a.m. at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel in Sikeston with Pat Hogan, pastor of Shady Acres Church of Christ, officiating. Interment will follow at Memorial Park cemetery in Sikeston.
