Pedestrian dies after being struck by vehicles

SIKESTON -- A Morehouse man died after being struck by a vehicle early Monday in Sikeston.

At 5:47 a.m. Monday, officers with Sikeston Department of Public Safety responded to a motor vehicle crash where James Hopper, 29, of Morehouse was walking along Highway 60 near Keystone Drive and was struck by multiple vehicles and killed, according to Sgt. Jon Broom, public information officer for Sikeston DPS. Hopper was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of one of the vehicles was transported to a local hospital with lacerations from broken glass. The crash is still under investigation, according to Broom.
