Sikeston man arrested on felony drug charges
SIKESTON -- A Sikeston man faces felony drug charges following the execution of a search warrant Tuesday in Sikeston.
Darin K. Newton, 43, is charged with possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute and possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, according to Sgt. Jon Broom, public information officer with the Sikeston Department of Public Safety.
At 2:18 p.m. Tuesday, Sikeston Narcotic Officers assisted by the DEA, SEMO Drug Task Force and the U.S. Postal Inspectors Office served a search warrant at 124 Holmes Drive in Sikeston.
"A search of the residence was conducted and officers located 2.2 pounds of marijuana and 5 grams of methamphetamine along with items used in the sale and use of the drugs," Broom said.
Bond was set at $75,000, and Newton remained in Scott County Jail as of Wednesday.
