Blowout blamed in accident injuring seven

SIKESTON - Five children were among those injured in a single-vehicle accident.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported that at 4:25 p.m. Monday on Interstate 55 at the 78 mile marker, Ratasha T. Isom, 28, of Sikeston was driving northbound when a her vehicle had a tire blow out. The vehicle travelled off the left side of the roadway then overturned multiple times.

Seriously injured in the accident were the driver and passengers, Andreanna Isom, 11, Sadaria Isom, 2, infant Alprentice Jones-Martin, Racaylen Reves, 8, and Trinity R. Reves, 6, all of Sikeston, and Tyronza Q. Smith, 29, of Cape Girardeau. They were taken by ambulance to Saint Francis Medical Center for treatment.
