Wilson promoted to lieutenant with Missouri State Highway Patrol
JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. -- Missouri State Highway Patrol Sergeant Thad M. Wilson has been promoted to the rank of lieutenant and assigned as an assistant director of the Governor's Security Division, General Headquarters in Jefferson City.
Wilson was appointed to the Patrol on July 1, 1995, as a member of the 70th Recruit Class. After graduating from the Patrol's Law Enforcement Academy, he was assigned to Troop E, Zone 1, Butler County.
On Aug. 1, 1998, he transferred to Troop E, Zone 12, Fredericktown and then on Sept. 1, 2005, he transferred to Troop E, Zone 12, Bollinger and Cape Girardeau counties.
Wilson was promoted to corporal on Aug. 6, 2006, and assigned assistant zone supervisor of Troop E, Zone 8, Pemiscot and New Madrid counties. He transferred to the Governor's Security Division, General Headquarters, Jefferson City, on Aug. 26, 2007, and while serving in that capacity, he was promoted to sergeant on February 1, 2010.
Wilson grew up in Prospect, Ky., andgraduated from Oldham County High School in Buckner, Ky., in 1988. In 1993, he graduated with a Bachelor of Science in administration of justice from the University of Louisville in Louisville, Ky.
