Immaculate Conception Catholic Church and School in New Madrid to hold annual Riverfest fundraiser May 5

NEW MADRID, Mo. — Immaculate Conception Catholic Church and School in New Madrid will celebrate their annual Riverfest fundraiser from noon to 6 p.m. May 5 at the Catholic school grounds at the corner of Scott and Powell streets in New Madrid.

Monies raised will benefit the operation of the Catholic school for the coming school year. Riverfest theme this year is “Cinco de Mayo.” The barbecue lunches will include a barbecue sandwich/hot dog, chips and drink. Chicken halves and Boston butts are also available by pre-ordering from Ashley Long and can be purchased on Saturday while supply lasts. In case of rain the festivities will be moved indoors.

Purchase a Golden Ticket for $100 that will include: family dinner includes drinks (one ticket per household); two bottomless cups for adult beverages, beer or margaritas; two armbands for bouncy houses; live music; “Jeff Hankins Band” with Allan Palermo and Gary Nunnally; and 10 tickets for cake/toy walk. Attendees can bring folding chairs if they’d like.

Raffle tickets will be on sale for St. Louis Cardinals tickets, barbecue grills, John Deere riding lawnmower. There will be a silent cake auction, bingo, toy walk and bouncy houses for the kids, salsa tasting competition (See Casey Rost for details), face painting, pet show, pie-eating contest; plus other games.

New to this year’s event, vendors will be set up on the grounds for anyone wishing to purchase homemade, hand-painted or crafted and packaged goods. Interested vendors should contact Allison Fowler.
