BEDFORD, Texas — J.W. “Jay” Martin, 86, by the grace of God passed into eternity April 10, 2018.
Born Feb. 9, 1932, he was a veteran of World War II and served his country in occupied Japan. He served his Lord faithfully as a deacon and Sunday school teacher in several churches during his life. His other great passion in life was to provide for and protect his family and be a generous and faithful friend to all he knew.
He was preceded to heaven by his wife of 66 years, Ruth.
Survivors include: three brothers, Jack Martin and Ted Martin of Sikeston, Mo., and Talmadge Martin, of Paducah, Ky., two sons Rick and Steven Martin; two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
He was dearly loved and will be missed, but the lessons he taught, and the way he lived, will go on through his family. He lived 86 years here on earth but will now live for eternity in Heaven. We will see him again.
Services were conducted April 13 at the Shannon Rose Hill Funeral Chapel in Fort Worth.
A committal service followed at the Shannon Rose Hill Cemetery.
