CHARLESTON, Mo. — Arcola Mae McCauley, 82, died May 29, 2018, at her home. Born July 7, 1935, in Portageville, daughter of the late Ernest Rateliff and Ivy Hutson Rateliff, she was previously employed at Charleston Manor Skilled Nursing Facility in the dietary department and as a certified nursing assistant in Charleston. She operated her own in-home day care and was a member of Opportunity Church of God in Christ in Charleston.
Her husband, Charles Lee McCauley, preceded her in death.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two sons, Charles Terry McCauley and Dennis Wayne McCauley; her stepfather, Clarence Pettigrew; two brothers, Frank Rateliff and Elgin Rateliff; and two sisters, Augusta Rateliff and Jahalia Rateliff.
Survivors include: one son and daughter-in-law, William Henry and Leesha McCauley of Stanley, Wis.; two daughters and one son-in-law, Teresa Ann and Charles Jackson Jr. of Charleston and Patricia Sharon Tyus of Clarksville, Tenn.; and 17 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation is from noon until service time at 1 p.m. Saturday at Opportunity Church of God in Christ in Charleston with Steve Betts officiating.
Burial will follow in the Oak Grove Cemetery near Charleston with the Williams Funeral Home of Charleston in charge of arrangements.
