RAYTOWN, Mo. — Donna Belle (Wagley) Walker, age 71, of Raytown, returned home to our heavenly Father June 5, 2018, following a long battle with cancer that actually began all the way back in 1985. At the time of her passing her family and friends wrapped Donna in love.

Donna was born Nov. 17, 1946, or earlier depending on who you ask, in a farmhouse outside Matthews. Her original birth certificate was never sent to the state by the doctor and was lost. Consequently, there is some question of what year she was actually born since the original was lost. Of course, her son and grandsons would take every opportunity to remind her that she might actually be a year older then her new birth certificate indicated.

Donna was preceded in death by: her father, Ardith (AW) Wagley; mother, Mary Lou Wagley (Matthews); beloved daughter, Carrie Jo Northup (Raytown); and brother, Gary Wagley (New Madrid).

Donna is survived by: her loving faithful husband, Paul Walker (Raytown); her son, Paul T. Walker and his wife, Tammy K. Walker (Grain Valley); grandsons, Seth and Caleb Walker, Cory and Tanner Northup; granddaughter, Shelby Stanley, great granddaughter Addison Northup; sister, Wanda Raper (Sikeston); and brother Neal Wagley (Sikeston) along with numerous brothers and sisters in Christ she considered her family as well.

Donna was a lifelong member of the Lord’s Church and attended church most of her life as a member of the Gregory Blvd. Church of Christ (Raytown). Her hobbies and interests were simple. More than likely you would find her at Church, loving her family, quilting, or helping someone in need. She was never afraid to speak the truth in love, was good at providing a listening ear and was a great example of the love of Christ. Every Fourth of July she and some of her family would return to the Current River at Van Buren to enjoy the beauty of the river, spend time with family and reminisce of days gone by. It was during these trips she was most at peace. One of her biggest impacts was shepherding generations of young women and men with Godly advice in humility and love. She had the ability to tell you what you needed to hear in a kindhearted manner. Consequently, her influence and love will be sorely missed.  She loved her husband, she loved her kids, she loved her grandkids, and more than likely, she loved you.

Visitation will be 10 a.m. with services at noon Saturday, June 9, 2018, at Gregory Boulevard Church of Christ, 7109 Raytown Road, Raytown MO 64133.

Burial will be in Green Lawn Cemetery.

Park Lawn Funeral Home of Kansas City is in charge of arrangements.

Please consider serving someone less fortunate than you in Donna’s memory.
