POPLAR BLUFF, Mo. — Gracie Ernestine Cole Shaw, 83, died June 9, 2018, at the Oak Dale Care Center in Poplar Bluff.
Born Sept. 15, 1934, in Bauxite, Ark., daughter of the late James William Cole and Minnie Marie Reasons Cole, she had lived the last few years in Poplar Bluff where she attended the Church of God. She was employed with Rawlings Sporting Goods, Bussman Fuse, International Shoe Company and then the Brown Shoe Co., retiring in 1994.
On May 20, 1961, she married William J. Shaw, who preceded her in death on May 21, 2003.
Survivors include: daughters and sons-in-law, Gracie Denice and James William Smith of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, and Billie Mae and Bob Jines of St. Charles; one sister, Lois Richey of Benton, Ark.; six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Besides her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Cleveland Cole, Lloyd Cole and David Cole and by four sisters, Alice Polly, Anne Belle Shaw, Ruth Cash and Adina Webb.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until service time at 1 p.m. Friday at the McMikle Funeral Home in Charleston. Charles Armstrong, will officiate.
Burial will follow in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery near Charleston.
