CHARLESTON, Mo. — Roxie Ann Anderson, 58, died June 13, 2018, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.

Born Nov. 28, 1959, in Charleston, daughter of Jimmy Betts of Charleston and the late Mattie Gardner Green, she was a graduate of Charleston High School and attended Mercy Seat Missionary Baptist Church. For over 15 years, she worked at both the Charleston Manor Skilled Nursing Facility and the Bertrand Nursing and Rehabilitation Center as a certified nursing assistant. She was currently employed for several years at the Close To Home Nursing Center in Matthews.

On Aug. 13, 1977, she married Woodrow Anderson, who survives of the home.

In addition to her father and husband, survivors include: three sons, Tyrone, Woodrow and Jermaine of Charleston; two daughters and one son-in-law, LaShonda and Victoria (Anthony) of Charleston; six brothers, R.J. Betts and John Betts of Kalamazoo, Mich., Willie, Charles and Jerome of Charleston and Lynn of Sikeston; eight sisters, Berniece, Susie, Mildred, Lois and Lisa of Charleston, Michelle of Kalamazoo and VaTisha and Paula of Memphis, Tenn.; and eight grandchildren.

In addition to her mother, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Alex Gardner and Clarence Gardner.

Visitation is from noon until service time at 1 p.m. Saturday at Mercy Seat Missionary Baptist Church in Charleston with Arthur Cassell, pastor, officiating.

Burial will follow in the Oak Grove Cemetery near Charleston with the Williams Funeral Home of Charleston in charge of arrangements.
