Local fireworks show has mishap
VANDUSER, Mo. — One person was injured after a firework malfunctioned during a fireworks show over the weekend in Scott County.
At about 9:45 p.m. Saturday the Scott County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a male injured at the Graviett Memorial Ball Park in Vanduser, where the town’s betterment committee was hosting an Independence Day celebration, according to Capt. Dane Stausing with the sheriff’s office.
Reportedly, during the fireworks show, one firework didn’t shoot in the air; instead it exploded and caused other fireworks to go off prematurely.
One man was injured but seen by EMS and was not transported, Stausing said.
Responding agencies included Scott County Rural Fire Department, South Scott County Ambulance and Scott County Sheriff’s Office.
