Suspect wanted in Sikeston armed robbery

SIKESTON — Police are searching for a suspect following an armed robbery of a convenience store in Sikeston.

At 1:36 p.m. Monday, officers with Sikeston Department of Public Safety responded to Gas and Goodies, 1207 W. Malone Ave., in reference to an armed robbery, according to Lt. Jon Broom, public information officer for Sikeston DPS.

“Upon officers arrival, officers met with the clerk and learned the suspect entered the store and pointed a dark hand gun at her and demanded cash,” Broom said. “The clerk said the suspect existed the store traveling east, then south on Jaycee.”

The suspect got away with an undetermined amount of money, Broom said.

The possible suspect is described as a black male with a light to medium complexion who is 5-feet, 5- or 6—inches tall and weighs between 170 and 180 pounds.
