Ruby Poor

SIKESTON — Ruby Lee Poor, 78, formerly of East Prairie, died Jan. 31, 2019, at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.

Born Feb. 29, 1940, in Columbus, Ky., daughter of the late Lecile and Mary Hilliard Poor, she was a homemaker and member of Cape First Church of Sikeston.

Survivors include: one son, Chris Johnston of Fruitland; two daughters, Diana Freeman of Dexter and Tuesday Achter of Matthews; one sister, Leartrice Orendoff of Jackson; and eight grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by six brothers, Jimmy Poor, James Poor, Ottis Powell, Milburn Powell, Amiel Powell and Dempsey Powell; and three sisters, Gale Nelson, Flo Welch and Imo Cooper.

A memorial service will be held at 5 p.m. Sunday at New Beginnings Church in East Prairie.
