ESSEX, Mo. — Doyle Gene Sanders, 79, died Feb. 8, 2019, at his home in Essex.
Born Nov. 12, 1939, in Essex, son of the late Elmer Lewis and Bessie Irene Purcell Sanders, he had lived in Essex area all his life. He had worked as a farm laborer until he retired. He was of the Pentecostal belief.
On June 7, 1961, in Essex, he married Julia Sue Burton, who preceded him in death on Feb. 15, 1982.
Survivors include: one daughter, Penny Hall of Essex; two sons, Dale Sanders of
Malden and Gary Sanders of Essex; one brother, Roy Sanders of Essex; and seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one daughter, Patricia Irene Sanders; four brothers, Elmer J., James, Donnie and Charles Dee Sanders; and five sisters Gerldine Duncan, Mildred Williams, Anna Lea Duley, Wilma Jean Alberson, and Martha DeSmythe.
Visitation will be from noon until service time at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Watkins and Sons Funeral Home in Dexter with Julian Lerma of Portageville officiating.
Burial will follow in the Essex Cemetery Essex.
