JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. — Donald Eugene Dixon, 61, formerly of East Prairie, Feb. 9, 2019, at Capital Region Medical Center in Jefferson City.

Born May 28, 1957, in Charleston, son of the late John and Ella Mae Wilson Strayhorn, he attended Mount Zion Missionary Baptist Church in Wolf Island. A graduate of East Prairie High School, he went on to further his education by attending School of the Ozarks in Branson where he also participated in basketball and track. He received his Bachelor of Science in physical therapy. His most recent employment was with B.J. Gym in Jefferson City.

In additional to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Thomas Dixon; and Joseph Dixon, who died Feb. 5, 2019; and one sister, Gloria Dixon.

Survivors include: one daughter, Ericka Pinion of Shawnee, Okla.; five brothers, William Dixon of Kansas City, Kan., Oliver Dixon of Myrtle Beach, S.C., Robert (Carol) Dixon of Murphysboro, Ill., Benny (Micheal) Strayhorn of Jefferson City and Roy (Angie) Dixon of Las Vegas, Nev.; one sister, Deloris (Keith) Bulliner of Fairview Heights, Ill.; and three granddaughters.

Visitation is from 11 a.m. to noon Saturday at the Williams Funeral Chapel in Charleston.

Burial will be at 12:30 p.m. in Oak Grove Cemetery near Charleston.
