Title New Metro East Church to Hold Spiritual Blessing Concert:

East St. Louis, Illinois—Pastor Joseph Walker and Lady Rosetta Walker are excited to announce a Spiritual Blessing Concert Fundraiser to benefit their new church: The Life Changing Ministries Church.

The concert will be held on Saturday, March 23, from 3:00 pm to 7:00 pm at the Village of Alorton Charles Coleman Community Center, 4822 McCasland Ave., in Alorton, Illinois. Well-known Louisville, Kentucky musician and singer Elder Willie Andrew Jr. will be featured. A menu including a variety of barbeque, side dishes, desserts, and soft drinks will also be available. Tickets are available at the door in the form of a love offering of $12.

The Life Changing Ministries Church is a non-denominational church, that will be located at 650 North 52nd Street in East St. Louis. Pastor Walker’s inspiration for the church began approximately two years ago. “God gave me a vision to promote the gospel of Jesus Christ and help change people’s lives through teaching, preaching, and training,” says Walker. “We will offer ministries that provide family enrichment, economic empowerment, educational excellence, and community development.”

Pastor Walker is originally from New Madrid, MO. He earned a bachelor’s degree in sociology and social welfare from Rust College in Holly Springs, MS. Rust College is a private liberal arts college founded by the Freedman’s Aid Society of the Methodist Episcopal Church. He enjoyed a successful career as a social service administrator and business owner. He is a member of the Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity.

His wife, Lady Walker is a native of East St. Louis. She graduated from SIU-E with a bachelor’s degree in sociology, psychology, and education and earned her master’s degree in counseling from the University of Missouri, St. Louis. During her career she was a classroom teacher, school counselor and assistant principal. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star and served on the board of trustees for Parsons Blewett.

The couple has three daughters and five sons, all of whom will be involved in the church. They look forward to welcoming the public to meet the family and share their vision, while enjoying the concert on March 23.
