Billy Pickett
SIKESTON — Billy Ray Pickett, 83, died Feb. 25, 2019, at Westfield Nursing Center in Sikeston.
Born Feb. 25, 1936, in Doniphan, son of the late William A. and Lillie (Lerouix) Pickett, he had served over 20 years in the U.S. Army Reserves and had owned and operated Pickett Shoe Store until retiring in 1999.
On March 31, 1956, he married Joy Knight Pickett; she preceded him in death on Oct. 31, 2017.
He was also preceded in death by one daughter, Sherri Pickett Gudermuth; and two grandsons.
He is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Gary and Tami Pickett of Bentonville, Ark.; one daughter and son-in-law, Kerri and Jeff Aldrich of Sikeston; and nine grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until service time at 1 p.m. Thursday at Ponder Funeral Home in Sikeston. The Rev. Cody Aldrich will officiate. Full military honors will be provided by the Missouri Honor Guard.
