SIKESTON — Clyde E. "Sonny" Crider, 86, died March 16, 2019, at Clearview Nursing and Rehabilitation.

Born Aug. 20, 1932 in Berrien Center, Mich., son of the late Clyde and Willie Lorene McGarity Crider, he was a retired chief petty officer after a 20-year career in the U.S. Navy. He and his wife managed the Airport Inn in Malden and later the Econo Lodge in Sikeston.

His wife, Alma Crider, preceded him in death on Jan. 2, 2015.

Survivors include: two stepsons, Sam "Bo" Coffee and Terry Coffee of St. Louis; three brothers, George Crider of DeSoto, Winston Crider of St. Louis, and Samuel Crider of Sikeston; two sisters, Betty Crider and Barbara Landers of Sikeston; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by four brothers, Johnny Crider, Howard Crider, Mike Crider and Jimmy Crider; and one sister, Tamara Loreli Crider.

Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until service time at 11 a.m. Saturday at Ponder Funeral Home in Sikeston. The Rev. Jimmy Vent, pastor of the Oneness Pentecostal Church in Morehouse, will officiate.

Burial with full military honors will follow in the Garden of Memories Cemetery at Sikeston.
