CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. — Charles William Parks, 86, died Saturday, June 1, 2019, at the Missouri Veterans Home in Cape Girardeau.
Born March 1, 1933, near Gleason, Tenn., son of the late Clyde Gordon Parks and Vennie Beauton Derington Parks, he was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, having served during the Korean War and had worked for the City of Sikeston before retiring.
On March 21, 1981, at Sikeston, he married Mildred Naomi Nickell, who survives of the home.
Other survivors include: one daughter, Connie (John) Fodge of Sikeston; one brother, Ronnie Parks of Milan, Tenn.; and three grandchildren.
He was also preceded in death by one son, Patrick Parks.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until service time at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at Ponder Funeral Home in Sikeston with Joe McCullough officiating.
Burial will follow in Missouri Veterans Cemetery at Bloomfield.
Pallbearers will be: Ronnie Parks, John Fodge, Gary Robinett, Jeremy Robinett, Justin Robinett and Jordan Melton.
