Joe Bob True

EAST PRAIRIE, Mo. — Joseph Robert “Joe Bob” True, 76, died June 1, 2019, at Cotton Point Living Center in Matthews.

Born Oct. 10, 1942, in Dorena, son of the late Homer and Margaret Metheny True, he was raised in Dorena and later moved to East Prairie, where he was a farmer and owned several businesses including True Trucking.

Survivors include: two daughters, Beckie (Rickey) Johnston of East Prairie and Kyla (Brian) Yamada of Kansas City; one son, Joe True of Jackson; four sisters, Laverne Dunn of East Prairie, Ann Ferrell of Paducah, Ky., Linda Marshall of Baton Rouge, La., and Virginia Trew of Rolla; two brothers, James True of Sikeston and Shirell True of Matthews; and six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, Samuel True and Homer Lee True; and an infant sister.

Services will be conducted at 3 p.m. Saturday at Blessed Assurance Ministries in East Prairie.

Crain Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Cape Girardeau is in charge of arrangements.
