EAST PRAIRIE, Mo. — James E. “Jim” Cloud, 86, died June 13, 2019, at the Miner Nursing Center.
Born Dec. 14, 1932, in Tiptonville, Tenn., son of the late James Claude Cloud and Hazel Odell Reynolds Cloud, he was of Church of Christ belief and had attended Diehlstadt High School. He served in the United States Army and was stationed in Germany from 1951-1953 and was a member of the Infantry Regiment. He was employed at Missouri Department of Transportation as a mechanic and maintenance worker and had been a private airplane pilot for over 40 years as well as a corporate pilot.
On May 19, 1956, in Hernando, Miss., he married Amma Jean Glass, who survives of the home.
Also surviving are one son, Ed (Terri) Cloud of Murphy, N.C.; one daughter, Debi (Larry) Witt of Harrisburg, Ark.; one brother, Johnny Cloud of Benton; one sister, Patsy Miller of Cape Girardeau; and three grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one son, Roger Cloud; two brothers, Jackie Cloud and Jerry Cloud; and two sisters, Peggy Walls and Lois White.
Services with full military honors will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery Chapel in Bloomfield.
McMikle Funeral Home in Charleston is in charge of arrangements.
