SIKESTON — Hugh Boon, 64, died Aug. 14, 2019, at Southeast Health in Cape Girardeau.

Born Nov. 17, 1954, in Memphis, Tenn., son of the late H.L. and Loyce McFall Boon, he was a member of First Baptist Church of Sikeston, where he served as a deacon and taught the Joyous Fisherman Sunday School Class. He was a master sergeant (retired) of the U.S. Air Force and a human resource manager.

On Oct. 18, 1975, at Turrell, Ark., he married Sharon Coats; she survives of the home.

Other survivors include: two sons and one daughter-in-law, Jason and Jennifer Boon of Omaha, Neb., and Joel Boon of Benton; one brother, Eddie Boon of Gilmore, Ark.; one sister, Elizabeth Boyd of Cordova, Tenn.; and two grandchildren, Ethan Boon and Alexander Boon.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until service time at noon Friday at First Baptist Church of Sikeston. The Rev. Ken Mathes, interim pastor, will officiate.

Burial with full military honors will follow in the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery at Bloomfield.
