On Nov. 14 the Southeast District of SkillsUSA Missouri held its annual District Leadership Conference at Three Rivers College’s Sikeston campus.

The District officers, who were all from the New Madrid Technical Skills Center, led a conference to teach districts members about four pillars of the essential elements within the SkillsUSA framework.

These elements included personal, workplace, and technical skills. Not only did this conference strengthen the officers’ skills as facilitators, it also helped to reinforce the framework in the district. Students learned hands on with engagement activities and through group discussions.

“With a total of 100 students attending this year’s leadership conference, it was an amazing opportunity to teach and grow as SkillsUSA members to better represent our district in upcoming state competition,” said adviser Gloria Houston.
