PORTAGEVILLE, Mo. — Louise Chambers, 90, died Dec. 17, 2019, at her home in Portageville.
Born Feb. 14, 1929, in Missouri, daughter of the late Florence Williams Brake and Grady Brake, she was a lifelong resident of the Portageville community, She was a member of Boekerton Baptist Church and First Baptist Portageville. She worked many years in the food pantry and clothes closet at First Baptist.
On Sept. 13, 1948, she married Bob Chambers, who preceded her in death.
She was also preceded in death by a half brother, Leonard Morris.
Survivors include: one son, Roberts Williams “Bill” Chambers Jr. of Golden, Miss.; four daughters, Patricia Oldham “Pat” Weddington of Almo, Texas, Joyce Ballard of LaGrange, Tenn., Roberta Bradfield of Rainier, Ore., and Alice Swilley of Portageville; and 10 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren.
Visitation is from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday at DeLisle Funeral Home in Portageville, where services will be at 11 a.m. Friday.
Burial will follow in the Portageville Cemetery.
