UPDATED NUMBERS: Very few new positive COVID-19 cases locally

The Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services reports 174 new positive cases of COVID-19 Monday afternoon with 14 additional deaths.

So far, Missouri has had 7,171 positive cases of COVID-19 with 288 deaths. There have been over 71,000 tests conducted in the state.

Locally, Scott County has 61 positive cases as of 2 p.m. Monday afternoon. That is an increase of just one since Friday and just two new positive cases since Wednesday.

According to the Missouri Department of Health, Mississippi County has 23 positive case with a majority of those attributed to the positive tests at the Southeast Correctional Center in Charleston. Last week, 22 inmates and three staff members tested positive for COVID-19.

There are still nine positive cases in New Madrid County with eight of those having recovered.

According to the Dunklin County Health Department Monday morning, they currently have 20 positive cases. Of those 20 cases, five are active with 13 recovered and two deaths.

The Pemiscot County Health Center reports 19 positive cases with 11 active. Seven have recovered and there has been one death.

The only new case in Southeast Missouri, according to numbers from the Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services Monday afternoon, was an additional case in Cape Girardeau County, giving them 48 positive cases.
