UPDATED NUMBERS: Scott County has third death; SECC with five new cases

Five new positive cases of COVID-19 have been reported at the Southeast Correctional Center in Charleston while Scott County has reported their third death.

The Scott County Health Department reported the third death Thursday afternoon. No further information on the death was provided.

An additional case was reported by the Scott County Health Department, giving the County 77 positive cases. Of those, 24 are active and 50 have recovered.

Four of those who tested positive at the Southeast Correctional Center are staff members while an additional inmate also tested positive. That brings the current number of confirmed cases to 31 inmates and nine staff members.

The Mississippi County Health Department reports 400 test kits are available to test inmates and employees, with some of those being retests from previous targeted tested done in April.

There are currently 33 positive cases of COVID-19 in Mississippi County, with two residents not inmates of prison having tested positive. According to the Mississippi County Health Department, they are working on the close contact list for those individuals.

The New Madrid County Health Department is reporting 11 positive cases of COVID-19 with two of those active.

The Stoddard County Public Health Center is reporting 24 positive COVID-19 cases with five of those active and 19 recovered.

The Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services reported Thursday afternoon that Pemiscot County has 55 positive COVID-19 cases. The Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services has reported an outbreak in a congregate living facility in Pemiscot County.

In their latest update, with was late Wednesday afternoon, the Pemiscot County Health Center had reported 51 positive cases with 28 active and five of those hospitalized. Twenty had been released from isolation while three have died.

There are 23 confirmed COVID-19 cases in Dunklin County. According to the most recent update of the Dunklin County Health Department, only five cases are active with 16 recovered and two deaths.

The Butler County Health Department is offering free COVID-19 rapid testing through the Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services. There are a limited amount of tests available but those tested will have the results given in 30-45 minutes. This is by appointment only and those interested should call 573-785-8478. Butler County currently has 26 positive cases with 23 recovered.

The Cape Girardeau County Public Health Center is reporting 49 cases with 15 active. There has been one death and 33 have recovered.

The Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services is reporting 9,341 cases Thursday afternoon, an increase of 239 from Wednesday.

They are reporting 418 deaths, 22 more than Wednesday. There have been over 104,000 tests given in Missouri.
