Sikeston Community Spring Cleanup dates set for June 6-14
SIKESTON ó†The City of Sikestonís Annual Community Spring Cleanup dates have been rescheduled for 7:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. June 6-14 at the compost site.
This is an opportunity for residents to dispose their items at the compost site on Compress Road (behind Fire Station No. 1), according to a news release from Sikeston Department of Public Works.
Open to Sikeston residents, citizens can bring any large bulky items, rubbish, yard waste, grass clippings, washers, dryers, microwaves, refrigerators, hot water heaters, commodes, tires no larger than 18 inches without rims, and household furniture to the site for disposal. Also, electric motors, rubber hoses and compressors must be detached from appliances. The site will be manned and proof of residency will be required.
The following items will not be accepted: any hazardous materials or chemicals, asbestos materials, shingles, paint, LP tanks, fuel containers, construction waste, demolition waste and batteries. No commercial dumping will be allowed.
