GREENWOOD, Miss. — Sadie Frances Goff Hagar, 87, of Greenwood, Mississippi, formerly of Benton, Missouri, died on Friday, May 22, 2020, at the Riverview Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Greenwood.

She was born to D.L. and Rachel Koehler Goff in Louisville, Mississippi, on Sept. 20, 1932. She married Dewey C. Hagar on May 5, 1950.

Sadie was dedicated to her family and was a dedicated Christian. She was a retired history and government teacher, having taught at Thomas W. Kelly High School in Benton, Missouri. She served as a social worker at Shady Lawn Nursing Home in Vicksburg, Mississippi, before her retirement.

She is survived by her two sons, Richard Dewey (Mona) Hagar of Hollandale, Mississippi and Randal Thomas (Vicky) Hagar of Wake Village, Texas. Three grandchildren, Josh Hagar, of Nashville, Tennessee, Matthew Hagar, of Hattiesburg, Mississippi, and Rachel Hagar Reeves of Ozark, Arkansas. She is also survived by five great-grandchildren, Maelynn Hagar, Dax Hagar, Aiden Hagar, Audra Hagar and Jacob Reeves.

She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, and her sister, Bernice Hendricks.

Graveside service was held on Wednesday at Forest Hills Memorial Gardens in Morley, Missouri.

Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel was in charge of arrangements.
