Scott County up to 147 cases, 37 active

There were 283 new positive COVID-19 cases and 37 new deaths reported in Missouri on Thursday, according to the Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services.

To date, there has been 16,908 positive cases and 946 deaths.

The Scott County Health Department reported five new cases on Wednesday and two new positive cases on Thursday along with nine more recoveries. Scott County currently has 147 positive cases with 37 active and 99 recovered. There have been 11 deaths.

Of the seven new cases, two were under the age of 19, one was between the ages of 20-29, two between the ages of 50-59, one between the ages of 60-69 and one over the age of 80. Six of the cases were female.

Drive-thru testing was held last week and according to Barry Cook, administrator of the Scott County Health Department, there were 198 tests given and two positive results.

The Stoddard County Public Health Center reported an increase in four cases from Tuesday, giving the county 121 positive cases with 37 active and 76 recovered. There have been eight deaths with seven coming from the outbreak at the Crowley Ridge Nursing Home.

Dunklin County saw an increase in five cases Wednesday and six cases on Thursday. According to the Dunklin County Health Department Thursday morning, there are 73 confirmed COVID-19 tests with 31 active and 39 recovered. There have been three deaths.

The Pemiscot County Health Department reported one new case late Wednesday afternoon, giving the county 105 cases. Six of those cases are active with no hospitalizations and 93 released from isolation. There have been six deaths.

Mississippi County (76 positive cases) and New Madrid County (34 positive cases with 11 active and one death) had not reported any new cases as of 2 p.m. Thursday.
