Vanduser to hold Independence Day celebration
VANDUSER, Mo. — While many Fourth of July celebrations have been canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the annual celebration is Vanduser will go on as planned.
The Sixth Annual Vanduser Betterment Committee Independence Day Celebration will be Friday and Saturday at Graviett’s Memorial Ball Field in Vanduser.
On Friday, Pageants begin at 5 p.m.; a fish fry from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.; live band from 7 p.m. to 11 p.m. with grounds closing at midnight.
On Saturday, there will be a parade at 10:30 a.m. with the Miss Vanduser Pageant at 5 p.m. followed by a crawfish boil at 6 p.m., awards at 8 p.m., flag presentation at 8:30 p.m, fireworks display at 9 p.m. and grounds close at midnight. There will be concessions on site and those attending are asked to bring lawn chairs.
While the event will go as planned, precautions will be taken to help reduce risk of the coronavirus.
“We will observe social distancing and we will have hand sanitizer set up around the park,” said Michael Hargrove, president of the Vanduser Betterment Committee.
