COVID-19 UPDATE: Scott County with 73 active virus cases; New Madrid County with 39

The Scott County Health Department reported an additional nine positive COVID-19 cases and 14 more people that have recovered on Tuesday afternoon and 15 new positive cases and three more recoveries on Wednesday. To date, the county has reported 319 total cases since March with 73 active and 233 recovered. There have been 13 deaths related to COVID-19 in the county.

The New Madrid County Health Department reported 18 new positive coronavirus cases on Monday and one new case on Tuesday, giving the county 149 positive cases since the pandemic began in March.

Of the cases, 39 are active with 110 having recovered.

The Mississippi County Health Department last reported 82 cases in the general population with eight active cases and 74 out of isolation.

According to the Missouri Department of Corrections, there are two active cases remaining among the 20 staff members who have tested positive and one inmate case is still active among the 47 inmates that tested positive.

One additional case was reported in Stoddard County Tuesday afternoon and four new cases on Wednesday, giving the county 23 active cases with 164 recoveries to go along with nine deaths that have been related to the virus.

The Pemiscot County Health Center reported the county’s seventh death related to the virus on Wednesday afternoon. The county has had 192 positive cases with 23 active and 162 released from isolation. There are three people hospitalized.

The Cape Girardeau County Public Health Center reported 10 additional cases Wednesday afternoon, giving the county 549 confirmed cases with 44 probables. There are 135 active cases with 455 recovered and three deaths related to the coronavirus.

The Dunklin County Health Department last reported 211 positive cases with 59 active and 149 recovered. Three deaths related to COVID-19 have been reported in the county.

Missouri reported 48,834 total cases statewide as of 2 p.m. Thursday, with 1,233 total deaths and 13 deaths in the last 24 hours.
