SIKESTON — Robert Leigh Henley, 80, passed way Aug. 11, 2020, at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau, Missouri.
Born Aug. 11, 1940, in Sikeston, son of the late William Robert and Ira Dorene Leigh Henley, he was a member of First Baptist Church of Sikeston. He worked at Bridger Construction Co. as a bookkeeper before retiring from Montgomery Bank as a courier. He was the Sikeston Jaycee Man of the Year 1972-1973; he also received the Art Saunders Founder Award in 1993.
He is survived by one brother and sister-in-law, Bobby and Mary Evelyn Lott of Bennettsville, South Carolina; nephew, Eddie (Teresa) Lott of Florence, South Carolina; niece, Marilyn Sue (Neal) Wallace of Bennettsville; two great-nephews; two great-great-nephews; and numerous cousins and other family members from the area.
A graveside service will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 13, 2020, at Garden of Memories Cemetery in Sikeston with Matthew Vroman, pastor of First Baptist Church of Sikeston, officiating.
