EAST PRAIRIE, Mo. — Buddy Gene Cave, 84, died Aug. 12, 2020, at East Prairie Nursing Center.
Born Aug. 17, 1935, in St. Louis, Missouri, to the late Tom and Nana Belle Jackson Cave, he had been employed in maintenance at Opryland Hotel in Nashville, Tennessee, and had also worked with Raymond Cornwell.
In June 1979 in Yuma, Arizona, he married Carol Brady; she preceded him in death on March 23, 2011.
Survivors include: three sons, Randy Gene (Melinda) Cave of Fruitland, Missouri, Jamie (Janet) Cave of Piedmont, Missouri, and Timmy Cave of East Prairie; two daughters, Charlotte (Robert) Massa of Patterson and Sandra (Richard) Beppler of East Prairie; two stepsons, Mike Stuart and Norman Stuart; and 18 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by one daughter, Brenda Merryman; two sisters, La Vere Cave and Delores Gilcrest; and one great-grandchild.
Visitation will be from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday at Shelby Funeral Home in East Prairie, where services will be at 11 a.m. Monday with Mike Johnson officiating.
Burial will follow in Dogwood Cemetery.
