NEW MADRID, Mo. — Daniel Arlan “Dan” Cashion, 78, died Aug. 12, 2020.
Born Oct. 28, 1941, in New Madrid, son of the late Arlan Cashion and Edith Waltrip, he graduated from New Madrid High School 1959. He went to Southeast Missouri State University where he obtained a degree in industrial arts and a master’s degree in special education. He worked as a principal at various school districts throughout Southeast Missouri and was superintendent of Zalma, Missouri, and Lesterville, Missouri, high schools.
On March 20, 1963, he married Rita F. Murrell, and she preceded in him death. On Dec. 31, 1993, he married Virginia Williams, who survives of the home.
Other survivors include: four children, Heath (Kristi) Cashion of Jackson, Missouri, Todd (Patricia) Williams and Scott (Tasha) Williams of Hendersonville, Tennessee, Randy Williams of Scott City, Missouri; and eight grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.
In addition to his first wife and his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Daniel Arlan Dale Cashion; and siblings, W. Ruth Craig and Eugene Rainwater.
