BERTRAND, Mo. — Alferd Leroy Walker, 90, died Aug. 22, 2020, at the Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston.

Born June 3, 1930, near East Prairie, Missouri, son of the late William Eugene Walker and Blanche Oliphant Walker, he had lived in Bertrand area most of his life and had been a heavy equipment operator a number of years. He attended the Bridges United Methodist Church in the Bridges Community of rural Mississippi County until its closing at which time he started attending the Southside Baptist Church in Charleston. He was a longtime member of the Charleston Masonic Lodge 407 AF&AM.

On July 26, 1948, he married Winona Evonne McAdoo, who preceded him in death on Aug. 29, 1995. He later married Regina Waldron, who also preceded him in death.

Survivors include: four children, Rocky Bruce (Linda) Walker of Charleston, Donna Rae Eaker of Bertrand, Robin Ann (Doug) Farrell of Rhineland and Patty Jo (Marion) Orr of Grayridge; two sisters, Judy Blaylock and Barbara Haubold; and three grandchildren, five great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson;

Also preceding him in death were his brothers, Wilbur Walker, Glen Walker and Kenneth Walker; and his sisters, Betty Jean Walker and Shirley Joan Walker.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until service time at 1 p.m. Tuesday at the McMikle Funeral Home in Charleston. Mike McKinney, pastor of the Southside Baptist Church of Charleston, will officiate.

Burial will follow in the Armer Cemetery near Bertrand.
