Scott County with 74 recoveries, fewest active cases since early August

The Scott County Health Department reported a single-day high in coronavirus recoveries on Wednesday while three more deaths were reported in Stoddard County.

While the health department reported eight new positive COVID-19 cases Wednesday afternoon, they also reported 74 recoveries. To date, there are 62 active cases in Scott County, the lowest since 63 cases were active on Aug. 4.

There have been 698 recoveries since the pandemic began in March and 14 deaths related to the virus.

The New Madrid County Health Department last reported 25 active cases on Tuesday afternoon with 451 out of quarantine and 11 deaths.

The Stoddard County Public Health Center reported three deaths on Wednesday, giving the county 14 deaths since the virus began. There were 10 additional cases reported, leaving the county with 99 active cases.

The number of active cases in Cape Girardeau County increased by 20 Wednesday, giving the county 279 active cases. According to the Cape Girardeau County Public Health Center, there have been 15 deaths and 1,125 recoveries since the pandemic began.

The Dunklin County Health Department is reporting 200 active cases in the county with seven deaths and 468 recovered.

The Pemiscot County Health Center reported a decrease of six active cases on Wednesday. Currently there are 50 active cases in the county with six residents hospitalized. Eleven deaths related to COVID-19 have been reported while 392 have been released from isolation.
