PORTAGEVILLE, Mo. — Portageville High School began Thursday transitioning to full virtual education through Nov. 6, the school district announced Wednesday.

“We plan on returning to in-person classes on Nov. 9,” said a message posted on the school district’s official website and Facebook page. “This is a result of increased COVID-19 contact tracing. This is for high school students only, grades 9-12. Students will not attend vo-tech in Sikeston.”

Portageville Middle School and Elementary school will continue with regular in-person classes, the district message said. High school teachers will communicate with students through email and Google Classroom for assignments.

Work will still be required to be completed and grades will be taken, and students need to contact their teachers through email with any questions, the district said. High school teachers will be on campus and available for students each day from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. for students to email or Zoom.
