CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. — Steve Cary Glenn, 69, of Cape Girardeau died Dec. 4, 2020, at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.

Steve was born Jan. 22, 1951, in Houston, Texas, to James Arthur Glenn and Naomi Bowman Glenn.

He graduated from East Prairie High School, continuing his education at Southeast Missouri State University in Cape Girardeau.

On Aug. 20, 1976, he married Debbie Marshall Glenn, who survives of the home.

He retired as a port captain with Luhr Brothers in 2019 after 40 years with company, starting as a deckhand and working his way up.

Steve was a 3rd degree Master Mason and Shriner. He was a member of Cape Girardeau Elks Lodge 639, VFW Auxiliary, Laborers 663 Health and Welfare Board, and AWO Local 513.

He enjoyed spending time at Kentucky Lake with family and friends.

He is survived by his wife; two daughters Andrea Story of Charleston, Missouri, and Sarah Glenn (Clayton Carbaugh) of Sikeston, Missouri; one son, Bradley Glenn (Dianna Durr Glenn) of Belle Chasse, Louisiana; seven grandchildren Marshall Story, Cary-McClure Story, Sophie Grace Carbaugh, Stella Carbaugh, Jackson Glenn, Colton Glenn, and Olivia Glenn; mother-in-law, Jean Marshall; and two sisters, Cathy (Jerry) Hensley and Robin (Ron) Seabaugh.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Michael Glenn; father-in-law, Charles Marshall; brother-in-law, Bobby Marshall; and sister-in-law, Neice Cooper Marshall.

Visitation will be from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 9, 2020, at McMikle Funeral Home in Charleston with funeral services immediately following. Dawn Walters will officiate.

Face masks and social distancing will be required.

A private graveside service will follow.
