SIKESTON — Roberta Lucy, age 67, passed away Dec. 5, 2020, at her home in Sikeston.

She was born Aug. 28, 1953, in Dexter, Missouri, daughter of the late Leroy and Thelma Emerson Lucy Sr.

Roberta was a lifelong resident of Sikeston and a member of First Baptist Church in Sikeston, she had a master’s degree in Healthcare Administration and had been a nurse for over 40 years. She was owner/administrator of Allen Home Care Services at the time of her passing.

She is survived by eight siblings, Donald “Ben” (Linda) Lucy of Trinity, North Carolina, Anita “Dees” (Dennis) Boen of Orlando, Florida, Leroy (Stella) Lucy of Robertsville, Missouri, JoAnn (the late Glenn) Lewis of Natchitoches, Louisiana, Richard (Brenda) Lucy of Clarksville, Tennessee, Mary (Bob) McCord of Sikeston, Missouri, James (Brenda) Lucy of Inverness, Florida, and Ken (Pam) Lucy of Jackson, Missouri.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Nancy (the late James) Hurley of Dandridge, Tennessee, and a brother, Robert Lucy of White Pine, Tennessee.

Visitation will be held Thursday, Dec. 10 from noon until time of funeral services at 2 p.m. at First Baptist Church in Sikeston.

Burial will follow in the Mounds Park Cemetery at Lilbourn, Missouri.

Pallbearers will be Robert McCord, Tom Windborne, Dan Pyne, Ryan Lucy, Mike Parker and Steve Sickery.

Honorary pallbearers will be Bob Patterson, Jim Barnes and Ray McCord.

Ponder Funeral Home of Sikeston is in charge of arrangements.


The family requests donations to either St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in Memphis, Tennessee; or the Lakota Waldorf School in Kyle, South Dakota; or the charity of the donor’s choice.
