Local health departments report four additional deaths

Local health departments reported four deaths related to COVID-19 on Wednesday afternoon.

The Scott County Health Department reported a death of a person in their 60s and a person in their 80s Wednesday afternoon, along with 29 new positive cases. There were also 20 recoveries reported.

As of Thursday morning, there were 804 active cases in the county along with 2407 recoveries. There have been 52 deaths.

An additional death was also reported in New Madrid County, the 30th in the county since March. There are 70 active cases in the county and 1,606 out of quarantine.

A death was also reported in Stoddard County, the 56th in the county to date. There are currently 122 active cases in Stoddard County with 2,326 recoveries.

Currently Mississippi County is rated the worst in the state for the past seven day for positivity rate and ninth worst for case rate per 100,000 population. According to the Mississippi County Health Department, “basically for every two people getting tested right now, one is coming back with a positive result.”

At their last report, Mississippi County had 106 active cases with 13 deaths reported.

There are 1,486 active cases in Cape Girardeau County with 5,305 resolved and 94 deaths.

Pemiscot County has 49 active cases with 16 hospitalizations. There has been 24 deaths and 1,299 released from isolation.

In Dunklin County there are 110 active cases with 2,303 recoveries and 18 deaths.
